Fortuner

learn and harness the power of Fortune Deity

Although you do not specifically worship her, you have studied and researched the powers of the Deity named Fortune for years in school and from books, applying it as part of your magic.

Level 3: Fortune Coin

You can create a magical token known as a Fortune Coin through a 1-minute ritual performed during a Short or Long Rest. This coin must be a mundane coin worth at least 1 gp, and it becomes magically bound to you until you create another one or the coin is destroyed. While you possess your Fortune Coin, it can serve as your arcane focus, though it does not need to be used as one to grant its benefits. If anyone else holds your Fortune Coin, it becomes nonmagical and provides no magical benefits.

While the Fortune Coin is on your person, you always have the Fortune’s Guided Lightning and Fortune’s Fireball spells prepared. These spells count as Wizard spells for you and do not count against the number of spells you can prepare.

Level 3: Flip Coin

At the beginning of each your turn in combat, if you have a free hand, you can flip your Fortune Coin. Roll a d20. If the result is even (Heads), you gain Advantage on your next attack roll or one ability check of your choice, lasting until the start of your next turn. If the result is odd (Tails), no effect occurs.

Outside of combat, you can flip your Fortune Coin as a Magic Action. The effect lasts until you use it or until 1 hour passes. You can’t flip the coin again outside of combat until the effect ends or expires.

Level 6: Fortuned Influence

If you flip your Fortune Coin and the result is Tails, then the next time you flip your coin using a Fortuner subclass feature at the beginning of your next turn, you may roll two d20s and choose either result.

Additionally, when you cast a spell that requires a coin flip as part of its casting (such as Fortune’s Guided Lightning), you can roll two d20s and choose either result.

Level 10: Fortune’s Fate

When you or a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see makes a d20 Test, you can use your Reaction to flip a coin. On Heads, you choose to turn the result of that roll into a 20 or a 1 (your choice). On Tails, you can choose to grant Advantage or Disadvantage on that same roll instead.

You can use this feature twice, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
